At the Gold Coast Drug Council we have over fifty volunteers working in various positions and in several programs. We welcome people from all walks of life: students; those with no experience; those with lots of experience. Whether you are looking to simply ‘help out’, or whether you have some specific skills you would like to provide, we have a volunteer position for you.
If you are interested in volunteering at the GCDC, please download the
Application to Volunteer form (88k PDF), and either fill it out and email it back to us, or print it out and then post it. Our Volunteer Coordinator will then get back to you with more details and to arrange to meet with you.
There are various volunteer positions available at the GCDC. These include: reception, answering phones, taking enquires, administration, database entry, PA to our talented clinical staff, and filing (for those with some previous administration experience).
Volunteers are also needed to support the Mirikai residential rehabilitation community, where you support evening or weekend staff, respond to crises, and provide support to residents.
We also respond to volunteers’ needs, so if there is something you would like to do, but we don’t seem to have a position that fits, just speak to the Volunteer Coordinator; you could be surprised by the flexibility involved with volunteering!
